What Students and Parents are Saying...
I’ve referred you to a few friends who’s kids are sophomores or juniors for when the time comes, and you worked with my friend and her daughter…she like I was very relieved not to have to handle the drama of the essay. I’ve also referred you to some people on Facebook on the college support groups like Grown and Flown and Paying for College 101. There is no selling or promoting (otherwise I would suggest it for you), but it’s ok for parents to refer others info and I’ve given your contact info out to a few people who’ve asked. –University of South Florida parent, high school graduate 2021
“Working with Michelle was a wonderful experience from start to finish. She was extremely attentive and helpful. Michelle was always willing to answer a question or a call. She helped me curate ideas for my personal statement and walked me through numerous supplemental essays. With her, I got into all eight schools I applied to, most with significant scholarship awards. Next year, I will be attending my dream school with a large merit scholarship, and I could not have done it without her.” –Monroe-Woodbury High School student, 2020
I am very happy with the work we did together you really helped me put my thoughts and passions on paper. –John S. Burke Catholic High School Student, 2020
Michelle helped my firstborn and was great! She helped him with the common app essay and about 20 supplemental essays for 10 different colleges. She was so flexible and generous with her schedule as well. My son ended up getting a full tuition scholarship to University of Miami, and I know Michelle was part of that success. I will definitely be hiring her again for my next kid coming up the pike. Thank you again Michelle! –University of Miami Parent, high school class of 2019

I was extremely nervous to begin my personal essay. From the second I began brainstorming with Michelle, I felt comfortable and actually wanted to work on my essay. Whenever I felt stuck, Michelle helped in a way that pushed me to figure it out myself, while never letting me feel like I was in this alone. With her constant support and friendly energy, I was able to write an essay I am proud of and get into the school of my dreams, University of Michigan. –Monroe-Woodbury Student, 2018
We got my daughter’s scores this morning. She went from a 560 in writing to a 650! We are thtilled with her scores! I will be in touch about working on her college essay in a few months. --Monroe-Woodbury Parent, 2016
Michelle patiently worked with me to improve my SAT and ACT scores. After learning more about how I learn, we decided to focus on improving my reading skills. Her tricks worked! I only took the ACT again, and I did much better. I am also doing better in English! –Monroe-Woodbury Student, 2016
Through your services, my daughter’s SAT scores went from the 1300’s to the 1500’s. Once scheduling was arranged, it was smooth sailing. She got into 8 of the nine schools she applied to, including her first choice! –Monroe-Woodbury Parent, 2013
Thank you for your help with my son’s college essay. I am convinced that the essay made a significant difference in his acceptances into college. He got into every school he applied to, and decided to go to Cortland State University. –Monroe-Woodbury Parent, 2013
Honestly, you were perfect for my daughter. You pushed her where I couldn’t, and gave her encouragement when mine didn’t matter. The college essay was key. And while she may have dragged her feet…all of her applications were done and submitted early and in time for early action. I think kids wait too long and don’t concentrate on it early enough, then when the time comes, everyone is scrambling around. We came to you via word of mouth, and continue to pass your name on to others. –Monroe-Woodbury Parent, 2013
I wanted to thank you. I’ll message you telling you what college I get in! I appreciate what you did so much. I’ve finally done something without procrastinating! –Monroe-Woodbury High School Student, 2013
I started to work with Michelle in the fall of 2011. I initially came to her for SAT practice. Michelle really prepped me for the SAT’s by giving me tips and tricks to get more questions correct, and I felt very knowledgeable of the test after my time with her. In addition, the summer before my senior year, I joined Michelle’s workshop to work on my college application essay. I am really glad I joined her class since I got the essay out of the way and I was able to devote all my focus and time to it. With Michelle’s help, I am extremely satisfied with my essay. Also, Michelle helped me with essay writing for my English class in school. In fact, one essay was entered into a competition–and I won! –Chester Academy Student, 2013

I was extremely satisfied with the College Application Essay workshop. I applied to eight schools, including Binghamton, James Madison, Penn State, and UMass (Amherst). I was admitted to every school except Binghamton, where I was waitlisted. I really believe that I got into the majority of these schools because of my [unique] essay. Thank you so much for your help and I will definitely recommend you. –Suffern High School Student, 2011

As a result of my daughter’s work with Mrs. Sale, her writing skills have flourished beyond her imagination. She is now able to write creatively as well as factually with ease and confidence. In addition, my daughter saw a significant increase in her verbal SAT score. Mrs. Sale has such a wonderful demeanor with young adults. She is patient, kind, and humorous, while at the same time holds her students accountable and encourages their development. –Monroe-Woodbury Parent, 2011
I just got off the phone with my daughter’s college admission counselor, and when she heard who I was, she knew the name right away. She said my daughter’s college essay is THE best one she’s ever read. It’s now on top of her favorite list. Just another well-deserved thank you!! My daughter enjoyed working with you very much and I liked the way you helped her bring her ideas forth and get them down on paper. She did extremely well getting into every college she applied to except being wait listed at one. She has decided to go to Geneseo and we are very proud. Thanks again for all your expertise and professionalism.” –Clarkstown High School North Parent, 2010
Going into the application process, I looked at my essay questions with disbelief, confusion and stress–I could not understand how they could possibly get done not only on time, but well. My mom told me she had scheduled an appointment with a woman who helps out applicants, and I was a bit hesitant at first. When we first saw her, I knew it was going to be good–she was friendly and cheery, but “laid down the law” when I needed it. I don’t know what I would have done without her help! –Tuxedo Park School Student, 2009
I learned so much from the teacher. I actually enjoyed the Bootcamp. My mom couldn’t believe I was the first one there in the morning, because classes were at nine o’clock. At first, I really, really wanted to go to the University of Delaware, but then my essay turned out so good that I applied to Maryland—and got in! –Monroe-Woodbury Student, 2009
This college application essay seminar was amazing. I have recommended it to many people. –Monroe-Woodbury Student, 2009
The feedback that was given to me regarding each essay proved to be a valuable asset when I was writing supplements later on in the year. The Write People gave me an accurate, and almost fool-proof way to develop college essays into more than just an essay; the essays I wrote truly captured my inner voice that was not on the paper before. –Warwick Valley High School Student, 2009
Ms. Sale was very patient and effective with my son. She taught him how to pay closer attention to what he was writing. He was one of only two seniors who got 100% on his English test for his summer reading project. – John S. Burke Catholic High School Parent, 2009
My son showed his essay to his English teacher, and the college and career advisor at Middletown HS and both thought it was a well written essay. Overall, he was very pleased with the ‘bootcamp’ and would recommend it. He felt it was better to have the block of time in order to be able to focus solely on the task, and to have you both there for assistance and immediate feedback. He loved the fact that when the time came to begin the application process, the essay was something he did not have to worry about doing! –Middletown High School Parent, 2009
We are very pleased that our son was accepted to almost all the schools he applied to and we are thrilled that he will be attending SUNY Binghamton in September. We could not be happier. We believe we owe it in no small part to the essay Ms. Sale helped Jonathan to write. He is a very bright kid with great ideas. I hired Ms. Sale to help Jonathan because I thought he needed some help in “tightening” his thoughts to produce a competitive essay. I could not help him because I do not know what colleges look for in their essay… but we all know they do look at them! I strongly recommend that other parents consider this College Application Essay Bootcamp program for their college-bound students. We certainly got our money’s worth! –Monroe-Woodbury Parent, 2009
The teacher established an excellent rapport with her students, and provided a personalized approach in order to individualize writing needs…she worked with the students using her expertise, capitalizing on their strengths and fine tuning the areas that required attention. The results were wonderful, as our son was extremely successful on the reading and writing components of the ACT exam, as well as being prepared for the rigors of college writing. --Syosset High School Parent, 2008
