Michelle partners with families and their children for both short-term and long-term goals.

8th Grade Goals

Michelle works with students beginning in eighth grade, laying the foundation for long-term growth in:

  • Reading, writing, and critical thinking
  • Executive function and time management (planner usage, digital calendar)
  • Managing academic stress and anxiety

9th Grade Goals

As students enter 9th grade, the focus is on transition from middle school to high school, developing habits and skills for lifelong success. Coaching focuses on: 

  • Reading, writing, and critical thinking
  • Paragraph structure and essay writing
  • Grammar and spelling
  • Executive function and time management (planner usage, digital calendar)
  • Extracurricular activities that develop students’ passions
  • Managing academic stress and anxiety

10th Grade Goals

As students enter 10th grade, students continue building upon 9th grade

  • PSAT prep
  • Test prep for the Global History Regents (for students living in New York)
  • Test prep for the science Regents: focus on reading difficult texts and graphs (for students living in New York)

11th Grade Goals

As students enter 11th grade, students continue building upon 9th and 10th grade

  • Grammar and writing mechanics
  • Essay writing for academic classes 
  • Advanced reading comprehension strategies
  • Continued support with organization and school-related stress
  • Test prep for the ELA and American History Regents (for students living in New York)
  • Test prep for the SAT and/or ACT (verbal sections)
  • Test prep for AP exams: Lit, Lang, Global, United States History

12 Grade Goals

By 12th grade, scholars are prepared to write their college essays and applications with a coach who truly knows them. Together, they develop:

  • A compelling Common Application essay
  • An accurate and thoughtful activities list
  • Tailored, authentic supplemental essays
