Why waste money to simply get a high test score when teenagers can actually improve skills that will change their relationship to reading, writing, and thinking?
The new SAT and ACT are more similar than different. Michelle focuses on process of elimination, the value of working smart not hard, and confident self-talk. Michelle uses a variety of resources to re-teach students how to read, explain grammar rules clearly, and how to assess different types of rhetoric. Students working with Michelle will also learn how to use these skills during high school, college, and in real life.
Test prep with Michelle is holistic, not based in numbers. Students’ scores do improve, as well as their grades in school. She doesn’t use baseline scores. Instead, deep discussions about learning and understanding, as well as how a student thinks through crossing out the wrong answers, brings success. Why not try a different way to get ready for college?
"Sometimes the most brilliant and intelligent students do not shine on standardized tests because they do not have standardized minds." - Diane Ravitch
