College and Graduate School Application Essays

Unfortunately, students cannot Snapchat or TikTok their way into college.
Last year, more than one million students applied to the more than 841 colleges that accept the Common Application.

Commitment

Writing a narrative about oneself is challenging. Most students have not written a story about themselves since elementary school. As a result, students must be open minded and commit to trying their best; an admissions essay is not a concrete task with a set path to a final product.

BRAINSTORMING

Michelle needs to get to know her students quickly and with ease in order to understand who they are and what college admissions will want to know and love about each student. Brainstorming allows this introduction to happen quickly.

DRAFTING

Students will have roughly three weeks of unlimited texts, emails, calls, video chats, and notes in a Google doc to draft and write their personal statement. Michelle prides herself on exploring 2-4 topics until the best one rises to the top and then the student works to finalize the draft that most reflects who they are.

FINAL POLISH

Michelle checks the document for spelling, grammar, and final word count. She takes pride in making sure each final essay is unique and not a story she has already read from another applicant.

AN APPLICANT IS MORE THAN A NUMBER

All colleges ask applicants for SAT/ACT scores, GPA, and a class rank. Graduate schools are looking at LSAT, GRE, and MCAT scores. Your essay gives you only one chance to convince the college admission team that you stand out from the thousands of applicants who have almost the same test scores and GPA as you. What will you say to make the admissions team want YOU?

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED

The college application essay can often mean the difference between an accepted or a rejected college application.
