Global and American History

Michelle breaks history into cause and effect, compare and contrast, facts and evidence.
She works with students to develop a toolbox of skills that improve their reading, writing, and thinking.

Middle School

From note-taking to study skills, middle school students will better understand culture and historical events. Michelle incorporates school assignments with extracurricular reading, projects, and materials that engage students in social studies lessons.

HIGH SCHOOL

Some high school students have state history exams to prepare for, and some just need to better understand how different people and events tell the story of a particular country or part of the world. Regardless, high school students must understand how to pull evidence from primary and secondary documents to support themes and thesis statements.

STUDY STRATEGIES

The way a student studies makes a difference in how well they retain information about people, places, events, and locations. Michelle uses graphic organizers and confidence-building activities to improve student engagement in class, on projects, and during assessments.

COLLEGE READINESS

Writing essays and research papers, as well as citing evidence, are parts of studying history that students must take with them from high school to college. Michelle works with students to help them understand events and patterns in world and American history.

Students don't need a perfect teacher

They need a teacher who gets them excited about reading, writing, and thinking.
A teacher who smiles and makes them enjoy learning–each and every day.
